Ball State’s Society of Physics Students (SPS) received two national awards from the national parent organization of SPS and Sigma Pi Sigma, the national physics honor society. These awards include the following:
1. 2005-06 Marsh W. White Award Recipient (one of eleven in the nation):
Marsh W. White Awards are made to Society of Physics Students Chapters "to support projects designed to promote interest in physics among students and the general public." The Ball State chapter of SPS received an award of $300 for this recognition, their second Marsh White award in three years. Information about the award can be found at the following website:

2. 2005-2006 Blake Lilly Prize Recipient (one of seven in the nation):
The Blake Lilly Prize recognizes Society of Physics Students chapters and individuals who make a genuine effort to positively influence the attitudes of school children and the general public about physics. For example, many chapters perform "Physics Circuses," conduct classroom demonstrations, offer tutoring services for grades K-12, or assist with school science fairs.
